The Steel In The Snow

[Zeg]

Adam looked around. 'Odd' he said to himself. He'd set the time manipulator to send them back one day. However he was fairly certain that the Hadrosaurus munching away on a small tree thirty metres to their left shouldn't be there.

[Earth Defence]

"Whaaaaaat!?" The Doctor asked in disbelief,  looking around. They weren't in London anymore.

[Zeg]

"Maybe it's escaped from a zoo?" said Adam hopefully.

[Magz]

Edward cursed loudly as the two men disappeared in a haze of distortion.

The creatures surrounding him backed away, uncertain, eyeing him cautiously.

A unit of cybermen came stomping towards him.

"Edward Smith - you are to come with us."

Edward looked at them with irritation.

"No - I must return to the hospital. I have business there to attend to..." he said angrily.

"Edward Smith - you are to come with us."  The Cyberman repeated.

[Zeg]

The cybershades dragged Edna into control room.

"Cyberleader this is an excellent specimen for upgrade." said one of the cybermen, "However she is pregnant."

"The fetus is of no consequence, we are only interested in the brain. Prepare the female for upgrade."

"At once cyberleader."

[Earth Defence]

"Maybe it's escaped from a zoo?" said Adam hopefully.

"Which zoo?" The Doctor scowled. "We're 80 million years in the past!!"

[Zeg]

"Well there was a zoo in the Boeshane Peninsula when I was a boy, they had all kind of dinosaurs there. I used to love visiting, my favourite was the triceratops, that's one reason I joined the Time Agency, to meet dinosaurs."

Adam looked around, there was no sign of any habitation anywhere, "However I think you may be right, we do indeed appear to have overshot our target destination a tad. It's these cyber power cells, they aren't compatible with my time manipulator."

[Earth Defence]

"So what do we do? Now I'm TARDISless."

[Zeg]

Adam removed the power cells from the time manipulator, looking for all the world like a pair of AA batteries.

"Not a problem, we simply reverse the polarity on the neutron flow."

Adam turned the batteries round and replaced them.

"Coming Doctor?" Adam grinned and then pressed the button. They both disappeared in a flash of sparkly blue light.

[Magz]

Edward was escorted to the main control room.  The lights flickered back on. 

[Zeg]

Edna was prepared for upgrade.

[Earth Defence]

Adam removed the power cells from the time manipulator, looking for all the world like a pair of AA batteries.

"Not a problem, we simply reverse the polarity on the neutron flow."

Adam turned the batteries round and replaced them.

"Coming Doctor?" Adam grinned and then pressed the button. They both disappeared in a flash of sparkly blue light.

"Where are we?" The Doctor said, eyes shut.

[Zeg]

"You know, for a 'time traveller' you're not very good at this whole history thing.  That was Shakespeare, there were no lasers, and that was earlier.  Actually, he was more 16th century, but he did go into the 17th century.  And he was Queen Elizabeth the first.  This looks like 19th century.  Of Queen Victoria."

"By the look of things, the day before tomorrow." said Adam as he observed the conversation going on across the street, "This is is where Laura get's killed, we have to prevent it from happening."

[Earth Defence]

"Can we do that?"

[Zeg]

"Why, you don't believe all that nonsense about reapers do you? That's just something we at the Academy tell the first year freshers." said Adam. "Besides if they do give us any trouble you are a Timelord, you can see them off."
